Severe weather in the area recently, and my OnePlus 6T phone running received the cell broadcast alert! Certainly many to thank for this feature being available on , including @phosh @postmarketOS and many more I don't even know.

@mpanhans @phosh this is not a feature of the OS, it is provided by che GSM chipset. Quite old and classic feature of the BTS.

The handset's OS plays a fundamental role in receiving, and assembling, the messages from the modem, presenting them to the user and configuring the channels messages are received on, etc. Without that you don't see anything on your screen.
