I've decided that, starting today, I'm no longer reviewing academic articles unless they are provided in a machine-readible format such as Word or .txt. It's absurd that we go from an editable and comment-able format like Word to a harder-to-work-with format like PDF, and then lose the ability for the computer to read to us (for auditory thinkers) or track changes in response to the review process. I'm providing free labor, I think this is a reasonable request.

@austinkocher ODT is like .docx except it’s an open standard instead of proprietary like Word. I wish more people used it instead of Word, especially in the academic world.
