"whats in the glass bert?"
"Oh, just some vodka"
"wait, the whole glass?"
"yah? It's my brand?"

Having vodka when everyone's drinking beer? Bold move! 🥴

@Jonny
Better be careful then — I had about a liter of it last weekend, some leftover fumes are probably still in me 😜

@Jonny
It's not even Christmas yet here — I'm just undergoing an intensive training course in preparation for the New Year celebration 😂

@Tony
With pleasure! But it's still normal week days here — not that I have a job to do or anything, but it's too early for that.
Would gladly get wasted on Fedi on the New Year. Merry Christmas, man!

@Jonny

No one's perfect, but you don't need to all announce your flaws to the world.
Podunk picking a fight with the two most vocal rum drinkers on fedi.

Have fun with that, and merry Christmas.
They do have their points. It is eggnog season after all.
Merry Christmas.
You should start by strangling egg yolks and sugar in a small bowl.
You can put a lot of booze in eggnog. To the point that you're more putting eggnog in booze if you like.
People buy Whiskey for the taste. Rum is a mixer.
Vodka is usually a nice neutral flavor but as Jonny established earlier it is gay AF
@Deplorable_Degenerate @Jonny @Tony @PodunkPotato @m0xee whiskey doesn't detract from the flavor of egg nog I think the point was more that you don't want to ruin the whiskey but you can't ruin the rum (it's already ruined).
Nice neutral flavor. Eggnog. Pick one. Rum really is a perfect match.
Well I mean if you want to taste the eggnog and not the bourbon. ;p
@PodunkPotato @Jonny @Tony @Deplorable_Degenerate @m0xee I still don't think I'd go out of my way to buy rum for the egg nog I make in my kitchen either but that's just me. I don't really ever have rum around. If I want a clear alcohol I have a high proof moonshine from the local distillery that will do the job just fine.
White liquor is something. I tried to make a gin once. Even bought juniper berries for it. Do you know what juniper berries taste like? Lysol.
And I will never know the recipe. You know what I do like the taste of? Wood. And time.
@PodunkPotato @Jonny @Tony @Deplorable_Degenerate @m0xee WV legalized home distillation of spirits. It's on my todo list to learn how to make a whiskey.

The aforementioned local distillery also sells barrels for aging, but I have heard that you can also put a bit of charred oak in glass bottles while it ages to get the same effect.
>but I have heard that you can also put a bit of charred oak in glass bottles while it ages to get the same effect.
DO NOT BELIEVE THEM!
The breathing process has a lot to do with it. You'll just end end up with wood soaked white lightening if it don't go bad when the wood chunks rot.
However, you can buy small casks, even down to I think 1 gallon. It ain't gonna be a sherry oak cask, but they age each other with use.
