Just went live with this bot here on SPW! :partyparrot:
Hit the migrate button from botsin.space 30 min ago, which is shutting down. Roughly half my followers came over. Guessing many were on servers that block SPW ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@sourcreampringles_SoundCloud
Some people might just have locked accounts so they have to authorise the migrating account manually — this usually takes time. Some might've switched to a different account themselves and followed you from it, there is no point for them to follow you from their old one 🤷
I mean instance-wide blocks have certainly contributed, but it could be not THAT bad.

@m0xee thanks, good to know. I bet you're right.

Although in the case of botsin.space, who's admin is a leftist who implemented hugbox safe-space policies, I know my audience there was mostly from the Mastodon, non-"Dark Fedi" side. So that's why I said that.

Yeah, sadly that IS a major contributing factor, but there are other things at play as well.
Don't let that discourage you!

@m0xee @sourcreampringles_SoundCloud I went through the remaining accounts that did not auto follow when I migrated my bot (there weren't that many, 60 total followers on botsin.space) and found that most had left fedi, moved instances, etc., so I contacted some of them to let them know I migrated.

Btw, here are the receipts I saved of the botsin.space admin being an reactionary leftist with a anti free speech moderation stance on his instance, and this is only one example. Then his CoC is also pretty long. "No cop accounts," "Bots should punch up," and "No deadnaming" are pretty hilarious. When he made the anti-cops/police/military rule, he made a post and announced it with an "ACAB" remark, iirc.
