@kaia Most fediverse instances are licensed under the AGPLv3-or-later, which is a free software license that doesn't say "open" in it; https://www.gnu.org/licenses/agpl-3.0.en.html

That is why I feel sceptical about phones built on Dimensity chips. Mediatek is also Taiwanese, but… 😅

Of course they are, but as you aren't going to start making a phone from scratch completely by yourself, you just have to go for lesser evil — which gives FBI-CIA fuckers an advantage, never in my life I'd like to deal with whatever China has in their place.
