Man, it's so jarring that any options when it comes to operating systems are all bad in some glaring way or another.

Windows had the closest thing to a fully working formula and then decided to steadily ruin it by continuously adding bloat, and increasingly abusing the user. It also sucked ass if you were trying to develop anything but desktop software for Windows.

Linux distros have components perpetually reinventing themselves and running in place forever (and sometimes backwards), except for those rare times a corporation or exceptional individual decides to move some aspect of the desktop experience forward. Only developers can get significant value out of it.

macOS is essentially forever tied to shitty expensive computers, goes out of its way to be different for no reason, and sucks ass if you don't fit the 3 user profiles they are designed for or if you're developing code for anything that isn't an Apple platform.

you're developing code for anything that isn't an Apple platform

how are there so many developers that use macOS?

tied to shitty expensive computers,

expensive yes, shitty not at all. great hw, great performance, great battery life

@mischievoustomato @Aeder naah macs are kinda shit, really. CPU aside, various models have sometimes ridiculously asinine construction flaws for literally no reason. Like that time when Apple decided to remove the ground wire in the display ribbon cable, putting 38V backlight power right next to the signal. Resulting in that shorting and burning the CPU in case of the slightest cable damage.

Also, what the hell is it with the screen moustache?

I lack the ideas that could explain why they would do that on a laptop โ€” okay, phones do not have plenty of screen space so make a tiny hole for the camera and make a UI quirk that would make it look less ugly, but why here? ๐Ÿ™ƒ

It's like when you're a teenager and someone points out that you do something badly, but instead of listening to that you start doing that twice as badly in an attempt to convince everyone that it's not bad at all โ€” but ultimately no one gets convinced and the only one who gets fooled is yourself. Something similar is what we have here.
