I don't think I'll continue with "Blackshirts and Reds" by Michael Parenti, since he's praising the Cuban regime for its social achievements.

Cuba has a shortage of food, fuel and electricity, is repressing dissent, imprisoning journalists and is placed 69th on the HDI.
@kaia >blackshirts and reds

The whole 1.2 billion of uglies? From the mainland?
@hj it's about fascism and communism. he's accurately describing fascism and national socialism at the beginning to suddenly switch tone and praise communism, ignoring its big crimes against humanity like the holodomor.
@kaia it's never really about ideology or rhetoric tho, it's about retarded and cruel leaders.

Apparently some still believe that solving problems is a matter of "good guys" "winning" — staying blind to the fact that democracy isn't that and that beloved leader becomes cruel dictator overnight when left unchallenged and without competition, same as "do no evil" company becomes a "only do evil" one as soon as it asserts market dominance 😩
