This is very good! Because a lot of people look at the officially published numbers for Russia and it looks like economy is indeed strong, in fact — far from it. These numbers do not necessary have to be bullshit, although I suspect some are — but they are meaningless when it comes to understanding the economic reality of average Russian.

Vladislav Inozemtsev's articles were insightful when he lived here, but he was forced to leave Russia in mid 2010s, now I'm reading his articles and it's like he has lost touch too — because I know he's looking at the numbers, but he doesn't "feel it" anymore. Foreign economists lack this even further, they look at the numbers and approximate things in accordance with their own economic realities, but that might be very misleading.
