Were they tied to a particular OEM and could only be used with a particular distro in Windows 95 times or was that introduced in XP? 🤔
I can vaguely remember you could turn your distro/build into Pan European one just by editing an .inf file in Windows 95 though — so maybe this could be worked around too 😅

@m0xee That sounds like something Microsoft only figured out later on. But who knows, we’re old now… We don’t remember everything correctly anymore. 🙈

I also never figured out whether it was true that you could activate Windows [2000, I think?] by just entering 25 Sevens as your product key, or if was just an urban legend. Ah, memories.
