i could write a fuckin static web server for fun in c i mean what else is going to test my skills in c

@kirby
Who needs another half-assed web server? Contribute something useful to snac2 if you want something web and AP related and C.

@m0xee no i dont want to do activitypub rn c is too bare bones for that

im just wanting to see how good i am at actually coding c

On the surface it makes sense, but in reality, you'd feel much more motivated doing things that are useful and that other might find useful, than doing something abstract — in this case you risk losing focus and eventually all interest.
Besides, I think they have most of AP shit already sorted out.

@m0xee i guess

well what would i write, an irc bot? i can't think of anything useful really
@m0xee i dont even want to deal with activitypub right now in lower level languages it already feels half assed as a protocol and desperately needs a spec update i would rather write python to deal with it
@MercurialBeige @m0xee yes but its useful for bots i mean for implementation in general. like actually making apps that work. i already know how to write mastodon bots
@kirby @m0xee write a bot that literally clicks a browser window and types the characters in and clicks post
@MercurialBeige @m0xee that is the job of autohotkey which i dont have any interest in learning
@MercurialBeige @m0xee what makes you think i want to write bots so badly? i want to write server software for the most part

@kirby @MercurialBeige
Make a bot that throws nuts and bolts at @bot so she has to defend herself with spanners 🤪

@kirby @MercurialBeige @bot
Damn, Bloat seems to replace "at" with a link to corresponding user on the same instance… 😩
But you probably got whom I mean anyway 😁
