Does it work well on this Mac Pro?
I have one and I have 10.11 occupying two hard disks in mirrored AppleRAID on it. I'm thinking of getting rid of Mac OS X on it entirely, but maybe I should check that out first.

I'm more worried whether sleep and waking up from it works properly — firmware in this thing is pretty old and it isn't officially supported, you know like MacPro 1,1 and 2,1 worked with 10.9 with an EFI shim, but sleep never worked.
You're right though, the GTX 680 I have in this thing might not cut it — it's not a bad GPU, but it's old and might not meet some Metal requirements.

Now that I think about it, it might still want to convert AppleRAID to CoreStorage and HFS+ to APFS — something I do not want as there would be no way back.
Well, maybe it's time to say goodbye to Mac OS X for good, set up a mirrored zfs volume on these two HDs and install Void on it 😅
I have Windows on its PCI SSD and two more HD for it to use so I can still run Live, Painter and other proprietary software that I still use.
@pyrate
If it's newer than 2013, shouldn't be a problem — before that Apple EFI didn't meet the UEFI spec and you still had to use BootCamp to boot Windows, newer ones can boot in EFI mode natively.
@m0xee Ah I see, Void is a great OS as well! Also it will def run faster with it
@m0xee Sleep seems to be iffy and kinda works whenever it wants to but everything else seems to be fine. Also for the GPU I tried a Radeon HD 5770 on Sonoma and it ran alright, yours is newer so I think it might be good enough
@m0xee yeah it runs amazing as long as you’ve got fast storage and a decent GPU
