Not necessarily. I've been getting this feeling a lot both in 2022 and in 2023, when situation looked extremely dire, but every time I got reminded that it's Russian army we're talking about.
It may now look Russia's all guns blazing, but I'm pretty damn sure for example they are VERY short on personnel, considering HUGE losses and that the source of recruits has mostly dried up.

They can't start the new draft as it would ruin the re-election farce entirely — to me it did look like they had to snatch Avdyivka literally with clenched teeth so Putin could report at least something on TV.
Every time the night seems especially dark I give it a week — and the ray of hope arrives every time and usually not thanks to Ukraine's or its allies' actions, but due to "wise" actions of Russian commanders.

Besides, such news pass by mostly unnoticed, but things like the recent long range missile strikes on troop lineups or attacks on fuel depots — immediate damage might look minor, but they might have long term consequences — Ukraine is way better at playing the long game than Russia ever was.
