#Russia Andrey Morozov “Murz” posted a grim comment on the price of their victory in Avdiivka - “from September, from Nevelskoe to Novoselovka, 16’000 irreparable losses on our side and around 300 destroyed vehicles”. Geographically, he’s talking about ~30 km part of front line that saw Russian offensive of the most intensity this winter.[^1] But this estimate doesn’t seem to include wounded and missing in action, number of the latter being likely very high granted literal heaps of Russian dead soldiers found on the approaches to Avdiivka.
OSINT data published by PS01 based on Russian Telegram groups where soldiers’ families search for their lost relatives contains 26’617 such messages for the period, only on Avdiivka axis.[^2] At the same time this is only soldiers who actually have any relatives looking for them.
What “Murz” is the most disappointed with is the fact that #Ukraine losses to be significantly lower on this direction (he estimates them at 5-7’000), after which “the enemy just says good bye and moves to the new defence lines prepared in advance”.
