I don't think that anyone is delusional enough to believe in winning a war of attrition. Making it look like they can win it — is a completely different matter.

And he's moderately pessimistic, I think that in reality it's even worse than that as economic data that the government has might also be made up — there are lies at every level, everyone tries tries to present things better than they are.

If Putin's allies in the U.S. and other democracies supporting #Ukraine can undermine that support fast enough than Putin still has a chance to avoid window cancer.
