Anyone have any recommendations for an Android client that handles threads more gracefully than Tusky? If it can actually take advantage of markdown, even better, though not essential.

It was mostly fine on previous Mastodon instances, but it really struggles now that I'm logged into an Akkoma instance. If I have two conversations going on under the same OP, they just get merged into one incomprehensible megathread of "ok who replied to what now?"

#fediverse #mastodon #akkoma

@gordoooo_z Husky was specifically designed with Pleroma (and it's still true for Akkoma as it's a fork) in mind and supports many features Tusky doesn't like emoji reactions, but I still struggle navigating threads with multiple branches. The only better way I could come up with is using PleromaFE (its default web frontend) for such treads 🤷

@m0xee Oh so I’m not the only one? That’s good to know at least. I’m usually on the desktop to be honest (using Mangane, which you could be forgiven for mistaking for 𝕏) but when I do go on my phone, it’s bad enough that I actually have (in the last hour even) replied to something with complete nonsense, because I thought it was a reply in an entirely different conversation 🤦‍♂️

Definitely not the only one! I think Pleroma (and Akkoma) servers although follow the API, give you all the replies in a thread, while Mastodon gives you only the branch you request and clients don't know how to display it correctly. Can you please keep me posted if you find a client that deals with it in a better?

@m0xee So far, Megalodon seems to be doing a much better job.
