@useless_idiot Apparently they now have a multi-tiered defense and "Surovikin's line" is not the only one. Even Ukraine admitted that it's been slowing them down, however mines are much bigger issue than these concrete blocks at this point — apparently, the money grafted on erecting it isn't even remotely proportional to its effectiveness, that is most likely what he went to prison for.

Hard to tell, I think that no one knowing what exactly is going on is part of intimidation tactic used by Putin to keep his generals in check — however bad those might be, it's better when they try to do their best than when they drink like fish. But I think this lack of trust will play a bad joke at some point.
Right now everyone is probably playing at full capacity. Ukraine however has better perspectives in the long run as from what I've read they at least have some rotation and personnel isn't viewed as expendable, they also still have cards up their sleeve in form of new armaments that might arrive — right now mine clearing equipment would come in handy and US were talking fighters in fall. Putin can announce full mobilization — I think there IS personnel shortage already, but it won't have immediate effect and no one knows how it will play out as it might disrupt life in Russia itself in unexpected ways. Obviously, he has been postponing it all the time, but the longer he does so, the worse the backlash from it might be. He's probably buying time waiting for some event significant on the international scale — like this food shortage, so from being the problem he might become part of the solution. But these grain shenanigans had already been painted as terrorist tactic so it might not play out well too

Yeah, the story that the grain mess is not being #Putin’s fault doesn’t seem to convince any leader in Africa, though quite a few will accept some bribes at the expense of #Russian taxpayers.
The whole Wagner/Belarus/Poland bullshit might be to get some enthusiasm for mobilization going. And for the recruiters to be able to tell the Mobik that they don’t have to go to Ukraine.
Here nobody seems to take it seriously.

No translation for this one yet, but to put it short: they come back and expect to be treated as heroes and they most often aren't, this causes them frustration and they often get into fights — which makes matters only worse, a lot of bars refuse to let people in military uniform in.

Is that the reason? Making fun of Vatniks/ZAnon aside I thought it was because of his association with the better connected #Prigozhin.
It’s a shitshow on both sides (see freakshow Sarah Ashton-Cirillo) and I still fear it will last years.
