People of mastodon, help me out.

I use spotify for most of my music listening with a family account so the kids can listen independently. I mainly listen to jazz. They mainly don't. When I find something I love, I buy it on vinyl where available.

I'm wondering if I'm putting my money in the best place. What other streaming options are people using? Is there an under the radar one that is better for artists?

@Andylikesguitars I think both Deezer and Tidal pay artists more than Spotify and both have better sounding options, which is always nice if you've into jazz, both should have family plans — I haven't used either, streaming just isn't for me, but I've heard good things about both. BandCamp is still the best option from artists' perspective and it's a great platform to buy from them directly, including on physical media. Not much in the jazz department though, contemporary's there, but no oldies.
