This article might be biased, but it doesn't look that way to me. The police even made bold attempts to downplay what has happened by refusing to release bodycam footage and later rehired this man and didn't reveal that to the public.

I am VERY happy that there was a bodycam, and indeed there were no guns involved here.
But one of the results of the relaxation of gun laws is that the pressure on policemen and women is increasing enormously. They constantly have to be afraid for their lives. Behind every corner, there can be a gun.
During confrontations, the tension is enormous. I hope that forces invest in training, but looking at this trigger-happy guy, that doesn't seem the case.
