What the fuck is the web environment integrity API
supposed to mean
Are we getting browser anti-tamper now? Fuck the web
@adiz @natty @privateger
I think we'll just abandon the web at some not too remote point in the future and leave it to the corporate bullshit — there's no way they can make us use it.
It makes a lot things easier, lowers the hardware requirements by a magnitude. I'm typing this on my phone now, but I'm using Fedi daily on some very old computers with on 512 Mb RAM with tut TUI client — it's still an enjoyable experience: I can browse my timeline, I can reply, I can view images in external viewer

It's quite possible even today. Gemini is fun too, I'm a lazy ass and don't post anything on my gemlog, but a lot of people do, there's stuff to explore already and now we have Bubble and station to liven things up. It's already fun and things will only get better, web is likely only get worse — it already does, why can't do anything new with it, we only get new bullshit 🤷
@m0xee@social.librem.one Is Gemini not apart of the web, however? @natty@astolfo.social @privateger@plasmatrap.com
@adiz @natty @privateger The protocol itself is quite limited, but people have already started building upon that and there is Titan for bigger file transfers, it's probably too early to speak of getting rid of http, but theoretically even that is possible.
@m0xee@social.librem.one I mean "web" insofar as Gemini is inextricably apart of the internet. I do share sentiments regarding how objectively bad the web is today. Everything is becoming a browser, everything is becoming a web-application. I really like the idea of a world where all the various things that a browser or the web comprises today is broken down into constituent parts using specialized, dedicated interfaces. I.e., applications or programs should do one thing really well, if they're trying to do multiple different things then they should probably be their own application. The web, I feel like, should be treated similarly. @natty@astolfo.social @privateger@plasmatrap.com
