@julia @drewdevault what if you're using something like a tiling window manager where you don't want any window decorations? what if you've heavily customized your window manager to have a titlebar with custom buttons and menus? CSDs cater to only one group of people who use desktops like GNOME and just completely screw over everyone else

@mjdxp@snowdin.town @drewdevault@fosstodon.org Tiling window managers are cool on paper, horrible in practice. I daily drove multiple of them for years before coming to the conclusion that it wasn't worth the hassle.

And there are people who don't like anything but them — me for example😅
Even before I started using tiling WMs, I've been using the likes of openbox and WindowMaker, not DEs — I have no use for them, I don't want them.
