Trackpoint is hands-down best pointing device you can get in a laptop. Once you get used to it you get much more productive with it than with trackpad. It's so good that all my Thinkpads had touchpad disabled.
Before I got my first Thinkpad I've been using IBM mouse which had it in scrolling wheel's place so it was a bit easier for me. At least I wasn't completely weirded out by this thing 😂
