It is certainly true outside of big cities, in the cities it's the same as in the West — atomized society, broken social ties, and it's getting worse.
A friend of mine got married and moved to Spain several years ago and she was amazed how strong the family ties are — they get together a lot and care for each other. I told her that it's actually the same in Russia, it's just that we grew up in Moscow so we rarely see that.

I wish the best for you, these stupid wars screw it up for everybody involved! Stay away from that mobilization office!
Your country is in for a hard time right now, as is most of the world. I pray we can find a way out of this mess...
@DotardTed Thank you for these kind words! I hope that we make it through and even if the country won't stay the same, at least we learn our lesson this time as people, as a nation. It's appalling that so many have to die in the process, especially the innocent ones who had nothing to do with it. I'm reading the news with a heavy heart.
I have a few words to add about Dugin and other topics, but I'm going to sign off now, maybe tomorrow. See you!

Here people live in these ugly concrete boxes and mostly hate each other, sometimes they don't even know their neighbours' faces, but want the worst for them 😅
Despite some family issues I think I've had a good upbringing and it's not that bad for me, but I'm still sometimes ashamed of myself that I don't do more to keep my family together, to care for my neighbourhood… And the state of course supports that on purpose because separate we are weak 😩
