Wouldn't it be wild if fediverse instances replaced places like Pixiv? Since you can post whatever you want? Maybe a stupid idea.. just came to me while browsing an artist's work on mastodon.art.

@kino It would be great, but artists themselves are more interested in centralized platforms as they help them reach wider audience. These platforms in turn are interested in wider user base and do a lot to grow it, Fedi, decentralized in nature will never be able to compete unless decentralization becomes a priority feature for users themselves.
