On Android I am usually using #Bromite but I was a bit disappointed that it took weeks for an update to arrive through #fdroid after a bunch of very serious #security issues were found in #Chromium.

@murks I use Fennec mostly and only use Bromite WebView as a replacement for Google's implementation. I've tried disabling WebView completely and the only app I use that stopped working was Skype, so I think I'm fine ๐Ÿ˜„
But yes, it takes time for software on Fdroid to get updated. Sometimes I just go to the github releases page and download the .apk-file. Not sure if it's possible for component like Bromite WebView.

@m0xee In this case I wonder whether the long delay was down to f-droid or Bromite devs.

Good idea about disabling web view, I should try that too. I don't think I use any app that needs it.

@murks I'm considering giving up using Android and making SailfishOS my daily driver. I'm using Tooter Beta on to write this comment (and the previous one). It's a community port, but my phone works mostly fine. The apps are scarce, but I don't need much: there is a Matrix client, a Fedi client and the browser kinda works for me. There are kinks to iron out here in there, but it's quite usable.

@murks I'm not pushing SfOS, I'm sure you have lots of your own reasons to use Android. I'm just testing this app to do something meaningful.
Sorry for using your post as testing grounds ๐Ÿ™
