Something that struck me as I was writing that Zig tutorial last night: I can't really remember the last time I had a conversation with a software engineer at work who was familiar with how memory worked in their code.

So many people aren't programming computers, they're programming their abstractions; they know very little about the computer itself.

Talk about alienation.
