Open-source software is in existential danger -- and the ramifications of that are grim for everyone but the opportunists who'll make a few bucks from its demise.
@ubersoft @dangillmor IIRC, using Claude code in your workplace grants Claude access to "train" on your software, so all satire aside, yes it can also apply to proprietary code. The difference is there's less chance of detection with proprietary, because the source isn't available.
OTOH, scraping code is mostly scraping algorithms and algorithms can't be patented.
@ubersoft @dangillmor It is a bigger issue for freeware, because the GPL licenses were created to prevent exploitation of a developer's effort.
