Today is the day Twitter/X has decided "if you stay on this site you automatically agree that all your tweets can be fed into our AI for training purposes." I have managed to delete roughly 33% of my Twitter content, but it won't be finished until the 19th.

There's a lot of content on Twitter to be consumed, and I assume it won't all happen in a day, so it's possible that I've still got time. On the other hand, there are plenty of things they could do/could have done already to thwart me...

The easiest, assuming they have the storage for it, is just to make a copy of everyone's tweets in preparation for the training. That way it doesn't matter what I delete in my own account, they'd still have everything. But I'm not sure how practical it would be to do that, and at the very least they might want to wait until today (when the new agreement goes into effect) to start making copies.

At the end of the day it probably doesn't make much difference. Still deleting it though!

@ubersoft Maybe they'll pull a GitHub where Microsoft kept a copy of deleted repositories.

@lwriemen yeah, there's a non-trivial part of me that believes absolutely nothing ever gets truly deleted if it's in digital form. Except for that ONE THING you want to recover...
