I recently read Planta Sapiens, which aims to make the case for plant intelligence (with implications for AI). While interesting in parts, I can't say that it convinced me, but gave plenty of food for thought.

More convincing was the argument that historically scientists have been poor at defining intelligence and detecting it when it takes unique forms.
