Nothing says "freedom" like living in a subdivision miles away from food, work, entertainment, and education that features exactly one way in and one way out.
I can see why you are scared of the idea of a 15 minute city now.

@ChrisKessell Civilization means never seeing far enough beyond the influence of the city to imagine the reality of self-sustenance.
15 minutes of no escape from homelessness for the most impoverished is no dream.
Work and art can exist outside of an urban setting. Cities are built for capitalists to control populations of workers.
Even with the internet one can never see all the art and beauty in the world, so why Imagine your city can contain/attract it all?
