I voted for Bernie Sanders, but I wonder how he would have handled the debt ceiling. Would we have ended up with a deal similar to the one that Biden negotiated? If so, then many of his supporters would feel betrayed by him. If not, then we could be in a much worse place than the one we're in. Either way wouldn't be ideal. I would've preferred a clean bill on principle; negotiating set a bad precedent, but insisting on a clean bill could've pushed us over the edge. There were no good options.

Of course in our fantasy world of Bernie as POTUS, did the DNC strongarm apparatus get removed on 2016 or 2020? i.e., are we dealing with the same SCOTUS and Congress, or did Bernie usher in a USA where things are already getting better and cause a groundswell of progressivism?
