Every time I dip briefly into the Twittersphere, I remember, almost instantly, why spending time there is so draining. So little signal, so much noise.
It's been rightly pointed out that there's plenty of 'noise' in the Fediverse, too... so what's the difference? Seems to me that the Fediverse vs. the Twittersphere is like Grassroots vs. Astroturf.

@lightweight There's more options to choose your "noise" in the Fediverse, especially nice is the ability to choose a new hosting instance without having to change tools and (mostly) keep your followers/follows.
