But what if 'the government' recognised that open source software was in fact a core part of our digital world today? What if it was recognised as having societal benefit in the same way as roads, water supply and in some countries telecoms and medical care? What if governments supported their own citizens in maintaining this essential software infrastructure? What indeed...
