One of the problems found with a strictly functional approach, like Structured Analysis/Structured Design (SA/SD), was that requirements changes were very expensive to accommodate. Object technology (not the same as OOP) was supposed to be the solution to this problem.

The real solution lies somewhere in a mix of technologies. There is no silver bullet.
