Often the best policy mix seems to be less regulation and more tax.

Nordic countries are in the bottom when it comes to regulations and have highest tax rates.

In housing the best solution seems to be deregulating zoning and taxing land.

Yet there is no political ideology, movement or party that supports this mix?

@LeoSammallahti In the USA, deregulation has led to less safety for workers, more damage to the environment, the recent housing crisis, etc., but regulation has also been used to stifle competition, reduce voting options, and attempt to kill off public education.

Regulation can be wielded for good or ill; one cannot make a one-sided statement about regulation.

Yes, recently I've been a big fan of thinking around "proportional regulation" . Currently proportionally the regulatory burden is biggest for smallest businesses. This should be reversed.
