GNU/Linux has small chance to ever get mainstream, unless the biggest propitiatory software can be used on it easily.

To make #Linux more competitive we should either sign #petition to #Microsoft supporting #MicrosoftOffice for #Linux
or mail #antitrust offices en mass justice.gov/atr/report-violati
ec.europa.eu/competition/conta, arguing that MS Office has no support for Linux as tool of unfair competition – making switching to Linux harder.

If there was MS office for Linux would be Linux used more?

@JackieLibre MS Office is so horrible. If it wasn't for Microsoft's anticompetitive monopoly, it would have never beaten the much better alternatives available in the 80s-90s.

@lwriemen I agree, however this is sort of egg or chicken situation.

General public, most of companies and government agencies won't consider switching to Linux unless it supports MS Office, Photoshop, SAP and others.

However, none of the big players will support Linux unless its user base is big enough.

As most people hate changes, switching form Windows and at the same time from MS Office is too much of a challenge for them.

I see MS Office for Linux as the only way out of vicious circle.

@JackieLibre @lwriemen

Linux don't need this sort of users. Let them run their windows and keep GAFAMA out of it.

Who cares about them, they like jails. It would be stupid to put us in jails to attract those prisoners.

furthermore, when they'll have microsoft office in linux, they'll ask adobe CC, they'll ask stupids sharewares, they ask their games....

They want windows' and already have it. that's fine. let's keep it asis
