Much like the environmental cost of meat consumption, this is targeted at an agenda of promoting preference over fixing the actual issue. Preference in this case is breast feeding; in the other case, it's vegetarian diet.
The actual problem is environmentally unsound agriculture practices, and overproduction of product supporting wasteful consumption habits. Fixing these would go a lot farther in protecting the environment than promoting niche agendas.
