@hacks4pancakes man, i have a makerbot 2x, from way way back when that's been gathering dust in the garage. it would be neat having a functional 3d printer.
@Viss @hacks4pancakes I also got into 3D printing during that era and I can say a lot has changed since then. In particular these days you can get a surprisingly high quality printer for $200-300. The Ender 3 and Ender 5 product line in particular seems to have a big community behind it. I personally have an Ender 5 Pro and have been pleased with the prints I get from it.
@hacks4pancakes @kyle i dropped like 3 grand on this beast and a shitload of filament. then prompty took the filament out of its shrink wrap and put it in a big tub in the garage. so .. that stuff is probably completely useless now
@Viss @hacks4pancakes @kyle put it in a filament dryer and see what happens. Hopefully it will suck out all the moisture and you’ll be in business.

I've used a food dehydrator to revive PETG. I have to print a lot slower with it now but it will work.
@Viss @kyle my vyper is low end but solid enough for stuff like this. Just a bit slow
