Finished reading Edward Snowden's book "Permanent Record: A Memoir of a Reluctant Whistleblower". So glad I saw it before the holidays again and finally bought it. In case you haven't read it, I highly recommend doing so -- even if you think you do not have time for it. #nt

@kirschner This book had one of the best descriptions of what it was like to come of age online in the late 1990s, and in contrast to the current era. That section alone would be useful reading for folks who weren't online in that age but are part of the recent wave of interest in open protocols like ActivityPub.

@kyle absolutely!! I was reminded about my own fascination of computers and the internet so many times in the first part of the book.
