Rental car broke down?
The few times i've had that happen, a local office brought me another car and they dealt with the tow truck. But if it's not a franchise rental company, they probably can't do that.
@bkuhn @noodles I didn't even bother to check the contract. But they were adamant about it on the phone. It was a slow leak and a short rental, so I did what presumably every previous renter had done and filled it back up and returned it with no further comment. Possibly because I did not pay for any of their extra insurance, yes. But this is a change from the norm earlier in my life that I remember, also without extra insurance.
Careful, @johns! You & I (I think @noodles is younger, so maybe not him yet) are over 0x32 years old when every other thing we say “they don't make 'em like they used to!” or “this place used 'ta have great service, now look at it!”.
Capitalism is evil, but ∃ an insurance company series of commercials that talks about how people get old and “turn into their parents” and need a life coach to keep them from doing it. Yeah, it's just advertising, but it's also funny-'cause-it's-true sketch comedy.
