For some reason I'm proud of myself that I've started consistently shutting down the computer by clicking the shutdown icon instead of switching to the terminal and typing "sudo shutdown -h now".
@johns lol. John... where did things go wrong in your life? #1 If you don't like a command, you wrap it in a shorter command. I called mine "off." #2 If you aren't already in a terminal, use a keybind to open one. #3 Don't use a newbie GUI that wastes pixels with things like a shutdown icon. (disclaimer: sarcasm)
@iank Despite the fact that I feel like I spend 50% of my life shaving yaks, I still have so many bad habits/routines like this. Freedom -1, the freedom to be extremely inefficient?
@johns Lol. Yes. Me too. How about freedom -infinity: "what is going on?! Why is it doing this?! I don't understand!"
@johns i'm ashamed to say I shut down my modern laptop using a real modern os by saying 'sudo init 0' or reboot with 'sudo init 6' even though I haven't used sysvinit for a decade (thank $deity)
