Lotta chatter the past couple of days about the fact that Google announced it will start imposing a storage limit on Google Photos next summer.
Briefly poking around, it seems like this is yet another of those big holes that FOSS does not fill. If you want to save photos from your phone, you must set up and manage a web server running PHP, some SQL database, and also pay a monthly bill. Can you see why that's not a compelling alternative to paying for the Google Photos non-zero price tier?
