Masto v. Twitter culture
I think the culture shock is probably the biggest issue for Twitter users coming to the fediverse. Every time we get a new wave of users, they're put off by our rules that ask them to be considerate of what others may or may not want to see. They're used to just putting things in people's faces, and feel entitled to do so.
Masto v. Twitter culture
@brainblasted I agree that exists. And different things contribute to it.
One of the things that can contribute to that, is sometimes a "need" to "simplify" explanations of what Mastodon is. And sometimes we/media/press reduce the explanation to:
- It's like twitter
- it's a twitter clone
- Twitter alternative
As if saying: you can have in mastodon the same experience you are used to have in twitter.
When mastodon was made to **not** be twitter.
