Our office has a Tesla, it is still new, but I drove over 300 miles on a single charge this winter. It's been a few months,so I don't remember the temperature at the time, but I believe it was near freezing, not below.

Yeah, definitely doesn't get that cold here.
The other problem with electric cars is battery life. I currently drive a twenty year old car, I doubt the battery in any electric car will last half that long, and it costs almost as much as the car itself to replace.
