If there was a single thing I would improve on #mastodon (I’m not a Dev, so can’t or I would) it’s encryption, #encryption of traffic, encryption of data encryption of everything..
Kinda seems like with all this attention, new joiners, home spun servers run by homeland sysadmins (like myself) this feature would be a no-brainer

That is why the librem server that I am on has DM's disabled. Instead, they suggest that you use something like matrix which gives you the option of encrypted dm's.
