I have a whole blog post in my head I may write if I find the motivation. Traditional API Gateways are becoming commodity. Innovation can happen on the experiences, modernizing both dev and ops. WebAssembly, edge deployments, remote debugging, GitOps, local stacks—oh my! But does this change have commercial opportunity for non-utility companies? Underlying it all… Do I really want to build another gateway in my career?
@kevinswiber I still appreciate @johnsheehan talking me out of starting a new API gateway company years ago when I was annoyed by how poorly they all worked in the then-new containerized world, but am also very curious about your thoughts!
