Time to retire my #JollaTablet which has served me well for 5+ years. Took almost a day to get from factory state through all the stop releases to #SailfishOS 4.3. Feels almost like a new device just to be put away 😅
@cybette you never got the urge to try out a iPhone as a daily driver?
not really, I've always been spoilt for choice with Nokia phones while working there, and going with Android + SailfishOS provided more choices as well. I'm not invested in the Apple ecosystem for iPhone to be desirable. :)
@cybette and yeah one would be have to be deep in the apple ecosystem. Me to this day i still have a 808 pureview i take with me from time to time for pictures, that phone was ahead of its time the pictures that thing takes even to this day is amazing. I never had the lumia 1020 windows phone model but i also had a nokia N8, as nokia had some of the best cameras, thanks to damian dinning and his team.
@cybette and i did have the very first iphone back in 2007 to see what the hype was
in some Nokia offices they offered a gadget program where we could check out different types/brands of gadgets (from phones to game consoles to camcorders) for a week or two - take them home to try things out, learn how other companies approach techonology and design etc. etc.
I tried out the first iPhone that way, learnt a few things, including that it's not for me :)
One of the perks of working at Nokia (at that time).
