@cybette got me beat I only have one librem 15 on my work desk.
it's a great laptop! as long as it meets your needs :)
I was running a virtual conference and editing videos so needed some extra CPU power and redundancy.
@cybette yeah was thinking about you thru all this how are u finding not being able to travel seeing your so used to always being on the go and now your having to do all virtual conferences etc etc
@cybette I am fine I run a carpet tile and hardwood store here, so for me a physical location is what I have. I finally had to shut down for a lil while but I'll be ok,and make it thru and reopen soon as we can, and be stronger from it all. And your right rethinking maybe virtual is better, and less traveling for conferences all the time is the way to go. Society as a whole will rethink how we do conferences from now on, I attended some that way such as libreplanet 2020 etc etc.
@cybette I agree with what u said less travel and wear on the environment because of it will be the way forward https://9to5mac.com/2020/04/07/long-term-effects/
@cybette nicely put :) i agree 100%
@jameshjacksonjr
good to hear you're doing fine. take care!
and yeah, while there is definitely value in face-to-face interaction, maybe the focus can be more on local gatherings to foster stronger local/regional communities. and use online/virtual tech to bring the numerous smaller local communities together. thus travel is kept to a minimum (also good for the environment) but the reach can still be global. like a hybrid virtual/F2F conference.
