Linux sucks at dealing with OOM situations 😒

@fribbledom my Linux machine just today crashed due to its inability to handle OOM. How does windows handle it so seamlessly? Do they dynamically allocate more swap?

@hinton @fribbledom I don't remember windows handling it nicely at all. but I haven't used one in ages, so idk.

@shironeko @fribbledom I recently had a MATLAB script crash Ubuntu but windows managed it. All on the same computer. I was watching Resource Monitor on windows as the free memory percentage disappeared, but it kept enough to keep the OS going. Ubuntu, not so much. Likely, I am just not setting up my Linux environment properly, but would be nice if that were standard.
