Collaboration!
I am engaged in a bug report as an end user for a free and open source software that started half a year ago. A couple of days ago one of the developers needed som further investigation to nail down the root cause. I have submitted some test results, it was testing that required beyond my comfortable knowledge level. I could do a small contribution to make the software better. Collaboration continued!
This specific bug report I wrote about above, has now resulted in a "pull request" with suggestion how to change the code. The suggestion has been tested and approved. The change of the software is ready to soon go into an upcoming new release of the software. All information about the case is public information in eg the Issue tracker, for anyone to read and contribute.
