@petsoi @micahilbery@coffeechat.lol I have no idea how they manage their Volla OS, but it is open source as I know, built on Android but not up to date in my mind with more details. And they are official partner/sponsor of Ubuntu touch.
@hehemrin @micahilbery if it's based on Android, then, I guess, the whole driver stack is decoupled from normal Linux.
It's a pity that Google decided to make the Android implementation so different. Hope this will change, at least to some extent, in the future.
But for now, this device is not interesting for me.

Volla OS is indeed Android based. But I don't think Ubuntu touch is directly Android-related, a possible alternative as single OS or multiboot at purchase from Volla. If you live in Denmark, LinuxNordic sells the Volla 22 (not latest model) with Volla OS, Ubuntu touch, Sailfish OS, Droidan, Manjaro and Nemo Mobile as alternatives. https://linuxnordic.com/shop/8-mobiler/8-volla-phone-22/
